Most companies use both insiders i.e. employees to do the testing and also people from the outside, especially those who have a keen knowledge video games. Their feedback is important because of their impartial views. 

The very first thing you must do is make contacts. Looking through the daily want ads will not be the answer. You have to go to the companies that actually create and develop games.
